In Loving Memory
1996 – November 2022
"He lived with an open heart and a generous spirit. This foundation is his legacy — and it belongs to every child whose life it touches."
1996– 2022
His Story
Kyle Genito Tamaray was born in 1996 with a warmth that touched everyone around him. Growing up with deep roots in both the United States and the Philippines, Kyle carried a profound love for family, community, and the belief that every person deserves a fair chance in life.
He was the kind of person who made others feel seen. Whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or simply showing up — Kyle gave generously of himself without hesitation. His Filipino heritage was a source of deep pride, and he dreamed of one day giving back to the communities that shaped him.
In 2022, at just 26 years old, Kyle was diagnosed with leukemia. He faced his illness with the same courage and grace that defined his life — never losing his spirit, never losing his smile. He passed away in November 2022, leaving behind a family and a community forever changed by knowing him.
In a profound tribute to his outstanding character — both as a student and as a person — High Point University posthumously awarded Kyle his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. His parents, John and Kathleen, received the degree on his behalf, a moment that honored not only his academic dedication but the remarkable young man he was.
But Kyle's story did not end there. It continued in the hearts of those who loved him — and in the foundation that now bears his name.
His Battle
Leukemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that strikes without warning. When Kyle received his diagnosis in 2022, he was at the beginning of his adult life — full of dreams, full of love, full of potential. The diagnosis was devastating, but Kyle refused to let it define him.
Through every treatment, every difficult day, Kyle remained a source of strength for those around him. He worried more about the people who loved him than about himself. That selflessness — that instinct to give even when you have so little — is the spirit that lives at the heart of this foundation.
Kyle passed away in November 2022. He was 26 years old. His family and friends carry his memory forward every single day — and through this foundation, so does the world.
The Inspiration
The foundation was created by Kyle's family and loved ones as a living tribute — a way to transform grief into purpose and ensure that his generosity continues to ripple outward.
Kyle believed deeply in education, community, and giving back. Every program this foundation runs is a direct reflection of the values he lived by every single day.
With every scholarship awarded and every child who receives school supplies, Kyle's legacy grows. His light does not diminish — it multiplies through the lives it touches.
"His light did not end in November 2022. It lives in every child who opens a textbook, earns a scholarship, or finds hope because of this foundation."
